EMILY’s List Endorses Tia Walbridge for Second Time

Recognizing the unusual opportunity to elect a Democratic, majority-women Board, EMILY’s List decides to make late play in local Loudoun races

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

October 1, 2019

Round Hill — Today, Tia Walbridge, Democratic nominee for Blue Ridge Supervisor, announced EMILY’s List has endorsed her campaign for the Loudoun Board of Supervisors. EMILY’s List is the nation’s largest resource for women in politics. The group endorsed Walbridge for the first time in her race against one of Virginia’s most extreme delegates, Dave LaRock, for the 33rd District of the House of Delegates.

“Tia Walbridge is a mother, farmer, and small businesswoman who is ready to tackle the challenges facing Loudoun County. Tia will work hard to improve infrastructure across the city and champion stronger protections for farmers, the environment, and community spaces,” Geri Prado, vice president of state and local campaigns at EMILY's List, said. “We are proud to endorse her campaign for the Loudoun Board of Supervisors.”

EMILY’s List’s endorsement follows endorsements from Congresswoman Jennifer Wexton, Delegate Danica Roem, and several other state and local representatives.  Walbridge has also been endorsed by Loudoun Education Association PAC, NoVA Labor, and numerous regional unions. She has been identified as a rising star by ASCEND, People For The American Way’s Next Up Victory Fund, Vote Mama PAC, which supports pro-choice moms running for office, Run For Something, and received a score of "51/50" from Equality Loudoun, a group focused on promoting LGBTQ+ rights in Loudoun County.

Tia was appointed to sit on the Virginia Agricultural Council, is a board member of Loudoun County Farm Bureau, a founding board member of Save Rural Loudoun, and an associate director of Soil & Water Conservation District. She also serves on the board of Dandelion Meadow, a nonprofit that provides facilities for women battling addiction in Loudoun County.
