Second National Endorsement Rolls In For Tia Walbridge

Run For Something Puts Weight Behind Tia’s Campaign to Flip Loudoun

June 20, 2019

Round Hill —Today, Tia Walbridge, Democratic nominee for Blue Ridge Supervisor, announced Run For Something has endorsed her campaign to flip the Loudoun Board of Supervisors. Run For Something is an organization that helps recruit and support young diverse progressives to run for down-ballot races in order to build a bench for the future. This is Tia’s second national endorsement.

“I'm thrilled to be endorsed by Run for Something,” Walbridge said. “We need more groups like RFS who understand how critical it is we build our bench with strong, progressive candidates at every level of government and who follow through with resources to make it happen.”

“RFS endorses candidates on two major criteria: heart and hustle. That’s what defines viability to us,” Ross Morales Rocketto, RFS co-founder, said. “These are candidates who are going to work hard to run grassroots, community-led campaigns. We are a critical time in history and the momentum these candidates generate will have a lasting impact for years to come.”

Run For Something's endorsement follows endorsements from Vote Mama PAC, which supports pro-choice moms running for office, Loudoun Education Association PAC, Rep. Jennifer Wexton and several state and local representatives, and a score of "51/50" from Equality Loudoun, a group focused on promoting LGBTQ+ rights in Loudoun County.

Tia is a sheep farmer and small business owner. She was appointed to sit on the Virginia Agricultural Council and is a board member of Loudoun County Farm Bureau. She also serves on the board of Dandelion Meadow, a nonprofit that provides facilities for women battling addiction in Loudoun County.
